The Reef

Thursday was quite the day! I woke up at 5:30 am wondering why the heck we had to get up at the crack of dawn. After breakfast we took a walk to the water and soon found ourselves on a boat called Passions of Paradise. Once on the boat, Zak, Christi, and I took the venture to lay on the hammock like things and soon found ourselves getting soaked as the boat went along. Finally we reached this small island in the middle of no where with fins, masks, and suits in our hand. If you haven't figured it out yet, we were going snorkeling! We were transported off of the boat and soon were given free range to go anywhere in the Great Barrier Reef! We took pictures and petted fish, and even got some pretty funny underwater pictures of ourselves. Then we found our way to the middle of the Ocean! No island, no raft, just us. The waves were enormous! We got to free dive and get even closer to the reef and fish. At the end of the day, we were tired and worn out. But it was the best day I have ever had! In the end, a bunch of us were sitting on the boat all dry for the ride back, and then suddenly a huge wave came up and covered us. It was cold and wet. But we laughed about it anyway. A great way to end a great day! :)
