Hyde Park Barracks

Thursday April 26, 2012: Hyde Park Barracks Tour. On the first day in Sydney, we got to see the Hyde Park Barracks. This is a historical site in Sydney which was constructed in 1817 by convicts under the supervision of the government. The barracks were used for convicts, immigrants' depot, courts and government offices, and is currently a museum. We got to learn about all the different uses and changes that the barracks went through.  We thought that it was a great experience to learn about the day-to-day life of the convicts in the barracks. There was so much history to be seen at the museum.
