From Canberra to Brisbane

Today was a travel day. We were up bright and early to get our luggage ready, grab breakfast, and catch the transfer to the airport. From the airport we took the rail to a station near our hostel then proceeded to make our way to the hostel from there. The walk was not too bad, but traveling in a group can be difficult! We all had our luggage trailing behind us, and getting across streets with 21 people and their luggage can be a bit difficult. The YHA in Brisbane had a very different atmosphere from the other YHAs we have stayed at. We made dinner in the kitchen, but we definitely were not the only ones there. The entire kitchen and dining area were full of people making dinner, eating dinner, and just hanging out. It is definitely interesting to see the contrasts between the different cities and the different hostels. As a side note as well the view of Brisbane's skyline from the dining area is beautiful! After dinner we decided to check out the town. We found a nice little place to hang out that had a live band. Surprisingly they played mostly songs that we knew; it seems that music people listen to here in Australia is more similar to the music we listen  to in the States than I thought. We've only been in Brisbane for a little bit, but I think we're going to like it here!
